We continue to optimize and improve the Westinghouse Plasma Gasification
Technology. The Alter NRG team has completed 3D modelling
of an energy recovery from waste facility with our partner, Uhde. This 3D
model and the balance of the engineering incorporates the Westinghouse Plasma Technology,
that sets the company apart from its peers in the industry.
Alter NRG has developed a 3D model of the Gasification Island as this is one of the steps of modern engineering that allows for accurate materials estimates and spacing requirements for maintenance access, operator interfaces, and safety corridors. Having a robust design model in the early study phases of a project is a unique advantage in that the Alter NRG gasifier models are built in specific sizes and, consequently, the gasification island portion of the model does not change significantly. What is shown here is the G-65, our largest reactor.
The specific model shown is based upon a 900 ton per day MSW project. This UK based proposal required one G-65 reactor processing a feedstock with very poor quality ash and a high moisture content.
The gasifier reactor vessel has added feature improvements that gained from years of operating experience at the Westinghouse plasma pilot plant as well as information received from our commercially operating technology applications in Japan.
