The Mihama-Mikata WTE plant is operated by Hitachi Metals and has served the two cities of Mihama & Mikata, Japan since 2002.

• Plasma gasification of 20 tpd of MSW and 4 tpd of waste water sludge
• The syngas is combusted and the resulting heat is used to dry sewage sludge prior to gasification
